Avalanche Studios has announced that it has now shuttered its Liverpool studio, after revealing back in September that it had launched a “collective consultation process.” The closure of the studio has resulted in 31 people losing their jobs at the company.

Avalanche was working on a major Xbox-exclusive title, Contraband, before it was scrapped by Microsoft earlier in the year alongside a number of other major games including the Perfect Dark reboot. Last year the studio announced it was shuttering its offices in New York and Montreal, which saw around 50 staff members lose their jobs.
Avalanche Studios co-founder Christofer Sandberg revealed a few years ago that the company was developing an Iron Man game for two years before it was scrapped. According to Sandberg, the project was going to be an open-world game and was cancelled in 2012 due to ‘company politics.’
