Turtle Rock Studios is reportedly working on Back 4 Blood 2 under the codename Project Gobi 2, according to the resume of Jesse Hutch, an actor and stuntman who performed motion capture on the first Back 4 Blood.
The actor lists a number of projects that he’s worked on including Dead by Daylight, Gears of War 4, and something called Gobi 2, the latter of which is listed under Turtle Rock Studios. This is believed to be Back 4 Blood 2, as the original game was codenamed Gobi, as per the SteamDB. Therefore, it’s not hard to imagine that Gobi 2 indeed refers to an in-development sequel.

Elsewhere, the domain back4blood2.com was registered earlier this year and is still active, so it looks like a sequel is all but confirmed at this point. Still, Turtle Rock Studios hasn’t announced anything official yet, so it’s best to take all this with a pinch of salt just to be safe.
Turtle Rock Studios announced back in February 2023 that it would be ceasing new content for Back 4 Blood as it turned its attention to a new project.
