The PlayStation Store has gone live with the client for the Battlefield 6 Open Beta ahead of the first round of tests this weekend, so you can now preload it on PS5 to save time later on.
For those who haven’t been keeping up, the first Battlefield 6 Open Beta test will run August 9 – 10, with the second phase running August 14 – 17. Those of you who are EA Play Pro subscribers or registered for Battlefield Labs prior to July 31 will gain early access to the beta on August 7.

In terms of content, Weekend 1 will offer three maps: Iberian Offensive, Liberation Peak, and Siege of Cairo, and supports Conquest, Closed Weapon Conquest, Breakthrough, Domination, and King of the Hill modes. Weekend 2 meanwhile will add all of the maps seen in the first weekend, plus Empire State and the modes Rush, Squad Deathmatch, and others in addition to the modes seen in the first phase.
Battlefield 6 is due out for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on October 10, 2025. Developer DICE recently confirmed that the game will support keyboard and mouse on consoles, while the company’s lead multiplayer producer has stated that fan-favourite Battlefield Bad Company 2 was a big inspiration for this latest entry in the franchise.
