The BBC has announced that it has rolled out the BBC Sounds app for PS5, allowing users to listen to live and on-demand radio from the broadcasting corporation’s national and local stations.
The arrival of BBC Sounds on Sony’s latest home console comes following a record-breaking start year for the service, which has seen 405 million plays of radio, music and podcasts between January – March 2022. BBC Sounds will give PS5 owners access to podcasts, radio stations, music mixes curated by experts, and much more.

Pushpa Reddy, the BBC’s Director of Product Management, commented:
Record numbers of people are using BBC Sounds, and launching on PS5s makes it even easier for our listeners to enjoy brilliant live and on-demand radio, music and podcasts from the BBC. Whether it’s on a TV, smartphone, smart speaker or on the web, we want to be there wherever and whenever people want to listen.
BBC Sounds can be accessed simply by heading to the Media tab on the console and select it fro the All Apps menu.
