Pearl Abyss has confirmed that a Black Desert Online PS4 update will be arriving today, bringing with it two brand new classes and some new modes in addition to a raft of tweaks and fixes.
Black Desert PS4 Update Detailed
Arguably the biggest new addition that today’s Black Desert PS4 update brings are two character classes, Musa and Dark Knight. As with the other, pre-existing characters in the game, each of these new characters has been created with different backgrounds and motivations for exploring the world of Black Desert.
Dark Knight – The Dark Knight wields the beautiful but lethal Kriegsmesser and burns through natural energy in order to amplify her power and damage. By employing a range of magical skills and attacks, Dark Knight is able to confuse her enemies in order to create openings for a combination of potentially fight ending strikes.
Musa – A stylish combatant, Musa employs a variety of martial arts with a focus on sword skills, while at range his super deadly horn bow gets the job done. Boasting extremely fast combination attacks and high agility, Musa is one fighter whose flourish is matched by the deadliness of his skills.

Beyond these new characters, a brand new world boss will be added to Black Desert on PS4 as part of this latest update. Kzarka, the Lord of Corruption, has arrived and after being sealed within a shrine in Serendia centuries ago by sacred magic, a suspicious group is now attempting his resurrection. Those adventurers who defeat Kzarka will have a chance of receiving high tier, yellow grade primary weapons.
Alongside the arrival of Kzarka are two modes for Black Desert.
The first, Node Wars, is now available as a weekly event that allows Guilds to engage in tactical combat over specific node locations until only one victor remains. Supporting between 25 and 100 players, whichever Guild is victorious will receive a big chunk of gold from part of the worldwide tax collection for the occupied node during that week.
The other new mode, Conquest Wars, is a weekly PvP mode that is larger in scale than Node Wars. In Conquest Wars players are tasked with controlling the Serendia and Balenos territories by constructing Command Posts and defending their regions until there is just one Guild left standing. The victors will then be able to claim both territories, in addition to an award of taxes from the entire region for that week.
