Call of Duty: Black Ops has raked in over $1 billion USD in worldwide sales, Activision announced in a press release today.
"In all of entertainment, only Call of Duty and ‘Avatar’ have ever achieved the billion dollar revenue milestone this quickly," boasted Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard.
Don’t worry — his fall will be cushioned by a mountain of $100 bills
The majority of sales came during Black Ops’ first five days on the market, when the game garnered over $650 million. Activision reckons gamers have spent over 600 million hours playing the game.
Bobby, it may be time to buy that gold airplane you always wanted. What’s that, Mr. Kotick? You already have two? Well, never mind.
