505 Games and ArtPlay DICO have confirmed via the official Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night twitter account that the game’s Classic Mode will be rolled out in January 2021.
This new mode will be available to downloads for free, and according to the blurb, “brings back old-school gameplay as you fight through five levels of demons and challenge Gebel’s deadly bosses.” Sounds like old timers like me who grew up on Castlevania will definitely want to give this a shot, then!

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was released for PS4 back in June 2019, and not long after its release, the game’s creator expressed hope that the title would end up spawning a franchise. You can read our Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night review here.
The game was conceived by Koji Igarashi, the former producer for the Castlevania franchise and is considered a spiritual successor to Konami’s classic series.
