Finally proving the active rumour mill right, 2K Games and Gearbox Software announced Borderlands 4 and confirmed that it will release for PS5 sometime in 2025.
Sadly, we didn’t get a glimpse of any gameplay but rather a pre-rendered trailer which strikes a somewhat darker tone (unless I’m blind) when compared to the other games in the series.
In the teaser, which you can catch below, we see an object striking a planet before the camera pans into the flame-filled crater and a robot hand reaches out and pulls out a psycho mask from the smouldering pit before the screen fades out to the Borderlands 4 title. Again, not much to go on, but at least we know that Borderlands 4 is a thing.
Borderlands 4 is set to release on PS5 sometime in 2025.
