The CEO of Take-Two has suggested that Borderlands 4 and Grand Theft Auto VI will not be released too close together, although both games are still due to come out within the same 12-month window.
Strauss Zelnick confirmed during the publisher’s latest earnings call overnight that GTA VI is still on target for a Fall 2025 release, with Borderlands 4 already set to arrive at some point in the next fiscal year ended March 31, 2026. When asked by Variety if Rockstar Games’ upcoming title could brush shoulders with Gearbox’s upcoming sequel, Zelnick indicated this would not be the case.
“I think it’s safe to say that we wouldn’t, and no one would, stack up huge releases unnecessarily,” the executive replied.
