Borderlands 4 Has Officially Gone Gold Ahead Of September Launch

Gearbox has announced that Borderlands 4 has gone gold, which means the game is locked and loaded for its planned release on September 12, 2025.

Borderlands 4 is confirmed to retail for $69.99 for the standard edition of the looter-shooter, and Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford recently revealed that the development team has added an option combat radar into the mix following feedback from fans. Earlier this month, Borderlands 4’s creative director stated that its endgame experience will be ‘very ambitious,’ and that the team has learned from previous experience with Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and previous Borderlands titles.

Elsewhere, Pitchford previously stated that Borderlands 4 is by far the ‘most open and free’ entry in the franchise to date, but wouldn’t go so far as calling it a true open-world game. In addition, the game’s senior project producer has revealed that the sequel boasts the ‘deepest and most diverse skill trees‘ of the series so far.

Borderlands 4 launches September 12 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
