Build A Rocket Boy Is ‘Heartbroken’ Over MindsEye’s Bug-Ridden Launch, PlayStation Now Issuing Refunds

Build A Rocket Boy, the studio behind MindsEye, has revealed that it’s ‘heartbroken’ over the troubled launch for the game, which has seen players flag up numerous bugs and glitches. Furthermore, it has been reported that PlayStation is now refunding people who are unhappy with the game.

MindsEye was released on June 10, 2025 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, and has been plagued by numerous technical issues; Build A Rocket Boy soon issued a statement saying it is ‘working around the clock‘ to improve the game’s performance. However, it looks like the damage has been done, as the game has been met with overwhelming criticism and negative reviews.

In addition, users have been claiming on Reddit that PlayStation Support has offered refunds for MindsEye without any hassle, something which hasn’t been seen since the bugged launch of Cyberpunk 2077 back in December 2020.

We are heartbroken that not every player was able to experience the game as we intended. Our priority is optimizing performance and stability so that every player, across every device, can enjoy an equally high-quality experience. Our teams have worked tirelessly throughout the night to solve many of these issues, and we have now identified that the vast majority of crashes were caused by a memory leak. This impacted roughly 1 in 10 of our players.

MIndsEye is set to receive a hotfix “as soon as tomorrow” (the statement was issued yesterday, so it could be out today) on PC, and will arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S after it has passed the certification process.
