Build A Rocket Boy’s MindsEye Launch Plagued By Bugs, Dev Is ‘Working Around The Clock To Improve Performance’

MindsEye developer Build A Rocket Boy has revealed it is ‘working around the clock’ to address numerous issues plaguing the action-adventure title, as users continue to report various bugs and glitches following yesterday’s launch.

While MindsEye is the debut title from the studio, fronted by former Grand Theft Auto producer Leslie Benzies, it doesn’t appear that many review copies have found their way into press hands (including us), although Steam user ratings aren’t exactly glowing so far. Furthermore, many players have run into multiple issues with the game including issues with AI and performance.

The problems aren’t just limited to the PC version of the game, as PS5 owners have also reported issues with MindsEye, even on the PS5 Pro. One user commented that the title “does not appear to be ‘PS5 Pro Enhanced’ in the slightest,” while another argued that the game should have been delayed “for another 2-3 months.”

In response to these issues, Build A Rocket Boy has issued the following statement:

Thank you kindly to all of you who joined us as pioneers on day one. We understand that the current minimum spec requirements are very high, but our engineering team are working around the clock to improve performance on mainstream hardware as well as consoles by integrating the performance improvements in Unreal Engine V5.6. We will provide patch 3 update timing, including these improvements, within the next 24 hours.

MindsEye take place in Redrock, a near-futuristic city built on the Unreal Engine 5 that promises to deliver state-of-the-art visuals wrapped around a compelling narrative. Players follow ex-soldier Jacob Diaz, who is plagued by memories from his mysterious MindsEye neural implant, while uncovering a tangled conspiracy web featuring rogue AI, corporate greed, and unchecked military.
