Activision has announced that its latest addition to the Call of Duty family will also be available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Together with developers Beenox and Mercenary Technology, they’re working to bring Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 to both last generation consoles later this year.
While Xbox 360 and PS3 players will be able to play the game, the developer did state that there will be some differences between last-gen versions and the PS4 and Xbox One games. The campaign mode for PS3, for example, will enable the possibility to play in cooperative mode with two players, whereas the Xbox One and PS4 versions will support a four player cooperative mode.
Activision also states that some features and functionalities that were built in for the current generation are not supported by the Xbox 360 and the PS3. More information regarding the differences between the console generations will be shared later this year.
About the multiplayer beta, Activision said:
“Finally, the upcoming next-gen multiplayer beta will be available only for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC—so keep an eye out for more details.”
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will hit the shelves on November 6 and be available for PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
