Call of Duty has the ‘best online community in the world,’ says dev

Beachhead Studios’ Chacko Sonny has labelled Call of Duty’s online fan base as the ‘best in the world,’ and promises to deliver a service with CoD: Elite that will unite its community and continue to evolve over time.

Speaking with OXM, Sonny commented, "We have the best online community in the world and we owe it to them to offer an experience that will not only anticipate their needs but will keep getting better and better every single day.”

"That’s what we’ve done with Call of Duty Elite. At last count, all four of the CoD games between 2007-2010 are currently in the top ten on Xbox Live, and they need us to figure out a way to bring those discrete communities together.”

"We want our players to create a single profile and build a relationship with Elite that can continue to evolve with every CoD game," added Sonny.

Elite was unveiled back in May after months of Internet rumblings, and combines freebees such as friends lists, clan support, stat analysis and video sharing with a premium “improve” system, which offers hardened fans with in-depth feedback and analysis.

Pricing details have yet to be announced, though the service certainly seems to have attracted much attention throughout the CoD community, with the beta raking in over two million users in just two weeks.
