Infinity Ward, the creator of the Call of Duty franchise and the team responsible for the hugely successful Modern Warfare games, is staffing up for an open-world RPG, according to a series of job listings.
Some of the responsibilities including teaming with the Game Director and leadership to set “the overall vision and direction for an unannounced AAA project,” as well as crating a narrative and cinematic experience “in a open world RPG.”
Participate in creation of the game story, characters, lores and world building. Cooperative with writers, quest designers, and gameplay team to create cohesive narrative experience.

Infinity Ward hasn’t announced anything on this mystery project yet, and presumably it’s not related to Call of Duty (although it’s possible they’re planning on taking the franchise in a drastic new direction; what better way to freshen things up?) so we’ll just have to wait and see.
This year’s entry in the multi-million selling first-person shooter franchise, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, is set for release on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on October 28, 2022.
