Activision has announced that Call of Duty WW2 will feature a remade version of the classic Carentan map.
The popular map was featured in the original Call of Duty back in 2003, and later popped up in the United Offensive expansion and 2005’s Call of Duty 2.
Carentan will be exclusive to Call of Duty WW2 Season Pass holders, and will be available on launch day. The Season Pass will set you back $49.99 and features an additional four DLC packs.
Activision has yet to confirm if the revamped map will be made available to non-Season Pass holders after a period of time. However, the publishing giant did state in a disclaimer that Season Pass content may be sold separately.
Earlier this week, it was reported that the Call of Duty WW2 multiplayer will ship with a total of 10 maps. This number has yet to be verified by Activision, although if true it’s a step down on previous Call of Duty games.
Call of Duty WW2 release date
Call of Duty WW2 is due for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on November 3, 2017. The game is the first entry in the series since 2008 to be set during the Second World War, and focuses on the latter stages of the conflict in occupied Europe.
Sales of Call of Duty games have been on a slow decline for the past few years. However, analyst Michael Pachter reckons Call of Duty WW2 will be the best-selling instalment in the series to date.
Despite the return to World War II, rumors have suggested that Call of Duty 2018 will be set in contemporary battlefields.
