Capcom drops new Resident Evil 6 tidbits

Capcom has taken to Resident Evil 6’s official Twitter page over the weekend to tease a few interesting tidbits for your consumption.

Much of the info was divulged in response to fan questions, and handily compiled by the chaps at Siliconera. Check it out below.

-Resident Evil 6 has been in development for roughly two years.
-Capcom confirmed that a demo will be released, with more info on that due in the coming months
-The outbreak in Leon’s scenario – a location known as Tall Oaks – is infested with 70,000 zombies.
-The zombies are ‘a bit different to what you may be used to,’ and differ somewhat from those in previous RE games.
-“There will certainly be a survival horror element to the game, mixed in with classic Resident Evil moments.”
-The control system has been totally “overhauled,” and will feature “a number of new elements.”

More recently, a listing on Xbox.com has outed details on the game’s multiplayer features. Resident Evil 6 will support two-player offline co-op, up to six players for online co-op, and up to eight players for online multiplayer of some description. We’d wager the latter is for The Mercenaries, but that remains to be seen.

Resident Evil 6 is due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 20, 2012. The game stars Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy and a third, mysterious male who has yet to be identified, and is set 10 years after the Raccoon City outbreak depicted in Resident Evil 2 & 3.
