Capcom has posted its ninth consecutive year of record profits thanks to the success of Resident Evil Requiem and catalogue sales of the series as a whole.
The publisher recorded a 15.3% year-on-year increase in digital content sales during the 12-month period ended March 31 , 2026, reaching 144.2 billon yen ($914 million), with operating profit climbing to 70.6 billion yen ($447.4 million), representing an increase of approximately 8.4%. Overall, the segment posted a record 59.07 million units sales, which is up 7.1 million from the same period last year.
Strong sales of Resident Evil Requiem and a positive critical reception also resulted in a spike in catalogue sales for the franchise, in particular Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil Village, said Capcom. In this regard, catalogue title sales hit 49.46 million, which surpassed the precious fiscal year in which 39.49 million sales were recorded.
Elsewhere, Monster Hunter saw increased sales including the recently-launched spinoff, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. We also know that Pragmata has performed strongly so far – although that released after March 31, and therefore not within the current FY – having sold over two million copies in 16 days.
Looking ahead, Resident Evil Requiem is set to receive story DLC at some point later this year, and Capcom is of course heavily rumoured to be working on two more remake in the franchise – Resident Evil CODE: Veronica and Resident Evil Zero.
