CD Projekt RED has revealed that 29 employees have been let go, many of which were working at the Project Sirius developer. The confirmation comes following reports yesterday from a number of ex-employees stating on Twitter that they had been let go from the developer.
Speaking with VGC, the studio confirmed that 21 employees in the US have lost their jobs, while a further eight have also been let go who were based in Poland.
Because the project changed, so has the composition of the team that’s working on it – mainly on The Molasses Flood’s side.
CD Projekt RED had previously revealed that it had completed a new framework for Project Sirius, and is also working on a number of other games in The Witcher series. Chief among these include a brand new chapter in the franchise directed by Sebastian Kalemba, as well as a full The Witcher Remake using the Unreal Engine 5.
All three games are in the early stages of development at this point, and The Witcher 4 (not its official title) isn’t expected to arrive until around 2025.
