Christofer Sundberg Confirms Liquid Swords Is Officially Closing

Following reports yesterday that Liquid Swords had filed for bankruptcy, founder and COO Christofer Sundberg has confirmed in a post on X that the studio is indeed shutting its doors.

“Liquid Swords is closing. Samson did far better on consoles, but it wasn’t enough to save the studio. I’m proud of our team and what we built. We’re discussing continued support for Samson. We make mistakes, we learn, we rise, we move on. I never give up. More soon,” he commented.

Liquid Swords is the developer behind Samson, an ambitious third-person action-adventure game that launched for the PC earlier this year but was marred by numerous technical issues. Various patches followed to improve things, and the game was released for consoles only last month. As Sundberg stated above, Samson failed to ultimately turn things around for the studio.

Reports yesterday stated that Liquid Swords had filed for bankruptcy after failing to pay its staff for the past few months, with the state stepping in to compensate its 27 employees.
