Concord’s open beta has come and gone, and Firewalk Studios is now focused on what’s next, which is the game’s launch in August, but before that, answering some big questions players have.
One of the biggest questions is what kind of progression systems Concord will have, and what can players expect post-launch. In a series of graphics posted to Twitter, Firewalk confirmed that Concord will not have a battle pass.
It also confirmed that post-launch content like additional characters (Freegunners), maps, modes, and other seasonal updates will be available to players “at no additional cost.”
Almost every live service multiplayer-focused game on the market today has a battle pass, especially ones on a AAA-scale like Concord. The lack of a battle pass and the focus on progression being rewarding players with gameplay items and different ways to customize your character and play-style might be the thing to make players look at Concord in a new light.
In our preview of Concord post-open beta, we said it was “highly polished” but currently “unbalanced.” Thankfully the latter can be patched, leaving a highly polished shooter
