A trademark filing for Control: Resonant has been discovered ahead of The Game Awards 2025, prompting speculation that we could be getting something announced for the franchise during the event. Whether or not this is the in-development Control 2 or something different remains unknown at this point.
The trademark was filed in Europe and was tagged under videos, miscellaneous products, and entertainment forms including TV series and cinematographic films. The trademark representative is listed as Nordia Attorneys at Law, which is the same company that Remedy Entertainment uses for all their trademarks.

Remedy last issued an update on Control 2 back in August 2025, where the company revealed development of the sequel “is on track towards meeting its next milestone.” We already know that Control 2 is being produced on a slightly smaller budget than Alan Wake 2, with full production on the sequel kicking off back in February.
Remedy announced last November that Control 2 will take the form of an action-RPG, although full details on the sequel haven’t been revealed at this early stage. The studio confirmed in August 2024 that it has partnered with Annapurna Interactive for Control 2, which will see the company provide 50% of the funds for the upcoming sequel. In exchange, Annapurna will receive film and TV rights to both Alan Wake and Control.
