A new teaser website and image from Castelvania: Lords of the Shadow developer MercurySteam is fuelling rumours that a new game in the popular run-and-gun Contra series could be on the horizon.
The following image can be seen on MercurySteam.com and is accompanied with the words: ““Exploring new worlds, fighting strange creatures, discovering new heroes. Expect news soon.”
Though MercurySteam has yet to reveal its mysterious sci-fi themed title, Konami has said in the past that it would be interesting in reviving Contra.
The website also hides further clues, directing users to another page to reveal some Spanish text, which translates to:
“With funding from the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism within the National Plan for Scientific Research, Development and Technological Innovation 2003-2016.
