Bloober Team is riding high after its Silent Hill 2 Remake went about as good as it could’ve dreamed, with critics and fans both enjoying it and sales starting out strong.
With momentum behind it, the studio has announced its next project during Xbox’s Partner Preview this Thursday. Another survival horror game, this one called Cronos: The New Dawn.
A third-person shooting and seemingly sometimes melee-combat title, the eerie trailer begins with a chess match between an older woman and a mysterious person in some sort of space suit (which seems to be you, the player).
We do get some gameplay by the end of the trailer, but what we don’t get is a release date save for a release window of 2025.
The trailer cuts back and forth between the chess match and a daring cinematic fight between the person in the suit and an alien creature of sorts that kind of looks like the Necromorphs out of Dead Space.
When the space suit-person loses the fight and the chess match, they toss the board aside and seemingly attack the old woman. It then cuts to some actual gameplay, which shows off a bit of the creepy environments we’ll have to traverse.
