Customized PS4 laptop makes next gen gaming more portable

Mod specialist Edward Zarick has created a laptop-like modification for the PlayStation 4 that allows a more portable means of playing Sony’s next-gen console.

Officially called PlayBook 4, this device is a physical rehashing of the PS4’s existing hardware compiled with a customizable chassis, a 22" Vizio 1080p television, and even an optional HDMI Out. In regards to customization, the color of each chassis as well as the border fixtures can have different colors chosen upon request; further decal enhancements on the console’s body are possible, but those come at extra costs. Cord layout on the standard PS4 carries over as well, as the power plug, ethernet port, and Optical Audio Out are found on the back of the modified system.

Unfortunately, Edward specifically mentions that these rehashes don’t have portable power sources, as the original console is "just not designed to run on batteries."

One major deterrent right off the bat may be the price tag–keep in mind that this mod includes a television as well as a complete remodel of an existing system. Without including any hardware, the PlayBook 4 will run $1395 USD, and providing a PS4 will cut the price down to $1095; as mentioned earlier, the optional HDMI Out port will cost an extra $50.

Interested consumers in the US will need to pay $75 for Flat Rate Shipping, but this doesn’t mean that Edward won’t ship abroad: he can be contacted for further information for shipping outside the US.
