Nordic Games has announced that Darksiders Warmastered Edition will launch on PlayStation 4, PC, Wii U, and Xbox One on October 25, 2016.
The enhanced port of 2010’s celebrated actioner is being handled by KAIKO, who reportedly helped out on 2015’s Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition. As expected, Warmastered Edition includes a host of improvements over the original release, as detailed below.
- Native 1080p rendering resolution for console platforms
- 4k support and additional video options for PC
- Doubled all the texture resolutions
- Rendering improvements and rework
- Better shadow rendering quality
- Post processing effects
- 60 FPS in moment to moment gameplay (PS4, Xbox One, PC, 30 for WiiU)
Pleasingly, Darksiders PS4 will also be positioned at a budget price, and will set you back only £14.99 when it hits stores this fall.
Darksiders was originally released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in January 2010, and sees gamers assuming control of War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The game takes place from a third-person perspective and fuses visceral combat with puzzle solving and exploration, with War able to amass a wealth of powers as players progress through the game.
A parallel sequel, Darksiders II, was released two years later.
