So, what does DayZ Database Timeout Connection PS4 actually mean? Well, other than a bunch of seemingly jumbled up words, it actually pertains to the state of connectivity you have with the DayZ PS4 servers.
DayZ Database Timeout Connection PS4 – What Does It Mean?
These DayZ database timeouts have been happening more and more on the PS4 version of the game. However these timeout connections are actually fairly commonplace and occur whenever developer Bohemia Interactive is restarting the PS4 DayZ servers for maintenance.
When the DayZ PS4 servers are then brought back online, these timeout connection errors tend to disappear very quickly indeed.
It is hoped that the upcoming DayZ PS4 1.04 patch will alleviate, at least in part, these sorts of issues and make the reason for the database connections a little more obvious with explicit messages being communicated about server maintenance timetables and so on.
That said, it’s also worth paying attention to the UI when playing DayZ, because if the server you are playing on is scheduled to shutdown for maintenance, a timed ticker message will appear informing you how many minutes you have left to play on the server before it enters downtime.
Additionally, it is hoped that this issue will be largely rectified by the arrival of private servers for the PS4 version of the game; something that looks to be happening quite soon indeed.
If you’re wondering what all the fuss is about regarding DayZ, it’s a 60 player online survival sandbox set during a zombie apocalypse where players must fight, craft and survive on a massive fictional eastern european map called Chernarus. Though riddled with jank, we thoroughly enjoyed the tenseness of the survival elements and the emergent player stories that seemingly abound during every playthrough in our review.
