Icelandic film director Thordur Palsson is set to helm the upcoming Dead by Daylight movie, which will feature a screenplay penned by Alexandre Aja and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick.
Details were revealed during the Dead By Daylight 10th anniversary stream, where Palsson was joined on stage Blumhouse’s Jason Blum and Stephen Mulrooney. Here’s what Palsson had to say during the event:
For me, the main thing is capturing the feeling of playing Dead by Daylight. The main thing is I want to capture the feeling of looking over your shoulder. I want to capture the dread, the tension, the fear of what’s waiting for you in The Fog. I love horror that stays with you after it’s over, and that’s the cinematic experience we want to bring to the big screen for you guys.
The Dead by Daylight movie will begin filming in 2027 and is set to include locations such as the Macmillan Estate and Greenville.
Developed by Behaviour Interactive, Dead by Daylight was released in 2016 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and has since made its way to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
