Bungie is rolling out Destiny 2: Festival of the Lost today as part of its latest title update, with the Halloween-themed event available until November 19. Fans of the shared-world shooter will be familiar with Festival of the Lost, as it has made a few appearances over the past couple of years dating back to the original Destiny.

Festival of the Lost is a time for Guardians to don irreverent masks and celebrate the memories of those that are lost. As a growing threat looms ever-present, return to the Tower, grab some candy, and remind yourself what you’re fighting for. The Festival of the Lost begins on October 29 and concludes on November 19.
Festival of the Lost invites Guardians to strap on silly masks and hoover up Candy, which can be spent on Mystery Grab Bags and other goodies. Furthermore, you can collect Chocolate Strange Coins by completing activities such as bounties, which unlock Festival of the Lost Mask Ornaments.
If that wasn’t enough, there’s also some new customisation options available to you, with the skeleton armor ornaments and Jack-O’-Lantern masks completing the Halloween look for your Guardian.
Destiny 2 has witnessed something of a resurgence as of late. Bungie re-launched the game as a free-to-play title with Destiny 2: New Light, and also rolled out a brand new expansion in the shape of Shadowkeep. You can read our review on the latter here.
Destiny 2 was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in September 2017, and arrive on the PC a month later. The game received three expansions prior to Activision’s split with Bungie earlier this year, namely Curse of Osiris, Warmind, and Forsaken.
Previously, both companies had agreed a ten-year plan for the Destiny IP, although that’s obviously no longer happening.
