Bungie has confirmed that the Destiny 2 Coldheart exotic rifle is a timed pre-order exclusive weapon.
In other words, if you want to get your hands on the weapon for launch this September, you’ll have to make sure you pre-order the shared-world shooter to guarantee that it unlocks for you come release.
That’s not to say you won’t be able to get your hands on Coldheart if you don’t pre-order the game. You can still grab it, but you’ll have to wait until December 5 for the weapon to be made available for general release.
You can check out Coldheart in action below.
Destiny 2 is due for release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6, 2017, with a PC version arriving in late October. Set some time after the events of Destiny’s final expansion, Rise of Iron, this highly anticipated sequel takes place following the aftermath of a devastating attack on the Tower by a Cabal unit known as the Red Legion.
As a result of the loss of the Guardians’ safe haven, all their hard-earned loot and gear has been lost, which means you won’t be able to transfer any of your goodies over to the sequel. Bungie is looking at Destiny 2 as something of a clean slate, although you will be able to transfer any cosmetic tweaks across.
