Bungie has confirmed that Destiny 2 Super abilities will recharge at a faster rate than the recent open beta.
Speaking to IGN, Destiny 2 Game Director, Luke Smith, said that we won’t have to wait quite as long to unleash our Guardian’s special abilities. “In the wake of the beta, we’ve made a few changes that will increase super regeneration across the game,” he said.
Elsewhere, Smith also tackled concerns regarding the balance between PvE and PvP weapons and armor, after numerous feedback from the beta suggested that things felt off in comparison to the original game.
In response, it appears that Destiny 2’s combat will be a more cohesive effort across both game types, with little differences between both PvE and PvP.
“In Destiny you build a character with a bunch of powers, abilities, and we hope, a combat rhythm that is consistent across the game,” said Smith.
Unlike the original Destiny, your Guardian will be silent throughout the campaign, presumably allowing other characters to deliver dialogue. In addition, Bungie’s Mark Noseworthy said that the studio hopes to provide a HDR update for Destiny 2 at some point down the line.
Destiny 2 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6, 2017, with a PC version arriving in late October. Bungie has confirmed a number of new features for the sequel, including a revamped Crucible focusing on 4v4 matches, plus a more expansive open-world featuring side quests known as Adventures.
In addition, Bungie has said that Destiny 2 will feature more emphasis on the narrative, eschewing the much-loathed Grimoire Cards in favor of in-game cutscenes, of which will be plentiful. The sequel also has an extensive post-launch lineup in the pipeline to avoid the content droughts that plagued the original.
