Destiny: Rise of Iron guide – how to use new artifacts

Bungie has officially rolled out Destiny: Rise of Iron, the latest expansion for its polarizing shared-world shooter, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One today. With it comes a brand new storyline with plenty of missions to tackle, fresh weapons and armor, extra Crucible maps, and tons more content to boot. You’re probably also wondering how to use new artifacts!

One of the latest additions to the Destiny family are the Artifacts, which when equipped offer unique buffs. It’s worth noting that some of them are only useful in the Crucible. There’s a total of eight on offer, and we’ve detailed how to use them in our latest Destiny: Rise of Iron guide below.

Destiny: Rise of Iron Artifacts – what do they do?

  • Memory of Felwinter: Obtain one extra Grenade and Melee charge at the cost of your super. In addition all stats will receive a small boost, while Orbs will reward Melee and Grenade energy.
  • Memory of Jolder – The spring cooldown penalty is removed
  • Memory of Perun – Highlights enemy Guardians with full supers and enemies that are low on health
  • Memory of Gheleon – Equips a detailed radar that remains when your Guardian aims down his/her sights with primary weapon
  • Memory of Timur – Melee attacks on minor foes have a chance to turn them against their allies momentarily.
  • Memory of Skorri – Allies’ supers will recharge faster when your own super is full
  • Memory of Silimar – Increased resistance to damage-over-time attacks
  • Memory of Radegast – Sword ammo capacity increased, and you now have the chance to reflect energy projectiles when guarding with a sword
