Destiny: The Taken King and Need for Speed are the latest titles to be subjected to a festive discount as part of Sony’s on-going 12 Deals of Christmas promotion on the PlayStation Store.
Gamers can pick up the Legendary Edition of Destiny: The Taken King, featuring the original base game, for just £24.75, while those who own the shared-world shooter can fork out £20 for The Taken King expansion. In addition, the Digital Collector’s Edition of the shooter is available for £44.99.
If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, then you can pick up the standard edition of Need for Speed for a reduced price of £34.99, or grab the Deluxe Edition for £39.99.
Better get your skates on though, as the deal will only run until 11.59pm GMT on December 12.
Sony has enjoyed a bumper 2015 so far, with the PlayStation 4 selling over 30 million units worldwide since its release in November 2013 alongside the Xbox One. While Microsoft continues to obfuscate hardware sales for its flagship console, it is widely accepted that the PS4 is comfortably outselling its lead rival; in fact, Microsoft has admitted it may not even be able to catch up with Sony’s console going forward.
Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter feels that there’s not much Microsoft can do to close the gap on PS4, which is already tracking well ahead of the multi-million selling PS2 in the U.K. Sony announced earlier this week it recorded its best ever Black Friday sales this year, with the PS4 not only managing to outpace the Xbox One’s sales in the U.K. but also came out on top at Best Buy during the lucrative sales weekend.
Sony recently hosted its annual PlayStation Experience press conference, where the format holder announced a slew of new titles and offered the first glimpse at the hotly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake in action.
