DOOM beta kicking off on PS4 next week, DLC and Season Pass confirmed

The DOOM open beta will kick off for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One gamers on April 15 at 12.00am EST/5.00am BST and run until April 18, Bethesda has announced.

The multiplayer-based teaser can be accessed simply but logging on with their chosen platform and downloading the client. Players will be able to take part in battles on the Heatwave and Infernal maps, and select between Team Deathmatch and Warpath game modes.

Elsewhere, the publisher also confirmed plans to release free content updates for the first-person shooter reboot throughout the year. These include new updates for both the multiplayer and SnapMap, which is the game’s user creation tool.

A total of three paid DLC packs have been confirmed so far, each one costing $14.99/£11.99. The first one will include the following content:

  • Three new maps
  • One new weapon
  • One new playable demon
