Official Xbox Magazine (via Duke4.net) has spilled the beans on what gamers can expect to see from Duke Nukem Forever’s multiplayer component.
Apparently, the Duke’s long-awaited return will offer online support for up to eight players, spread across four game modes: Dukematch, Team Dukematch, Capture the Babe and Hail to the King. The latter two are ostensibly DNF’s take on the popular online modes Capture the Flag and King of the Hill, respectively.
According to the publication, DNF will offer 10 maps out of the box, and includes a remade Dukeburger where all Dukes are miniaturised.
Weapons-wise players will have access to the pistol, Shotgun, ripper chaingun, pipebomb, RPG, shrinker, railgun, freezer, devastator and tripbomb. Jetpacks will also be up for grabs in certain multiplayer maps, while Holodukes will cloak players and steroids allow for a one-hit kills.
As is customary for multiplayer components these days, DNF will also boasts its own experience points system, allowing you to invest in various customisation options.
Duke Nukem Forever will be unleashed on May 6 for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 platforms.
