E3 E3 2021 ESA Los Angeles News

E3 2021’s Physical Event Has Reportedly Been Cancelled

According to a report published by the Board of Los Angeles Convention and Tourism Development Commission, the physical event for E3 2021 has been shelved, having been listed as a ‘cancelled live event.’

The Entertainment Software Association is now working with Convention board for options to broadcast at the Los Angeles Convention Centre and the LA Live complex. In addition, the documents claim that the board is also “working” on a 2022 and 2023 license for E3.

This will be the second year that E3 has been cancelled in physical form, as last year’s event was also canned due to the coronavirus outbreak. Instead, a digital event was held, and it looks like things are in motion for something similar this year.

Speaking to VGC, the ESA revealed that it is ‘transforming the E3 experience for 2021.’

We can confirm that we are transforming the E3 experience for 2021 and will soon share exact details on how we’re bringing the global video game community together. We are having great conversations with publishers, developers and companies across the board, and we look forward to sharing details about their involvement soon.
