EA Confirms New Battlefield Game Will Launch By March 2026, With A Full Reveal Due This Summer

The next instalment in the Battlefield franchise will launch by March 2026 and will be revealed in full this summer, Electronic Arts has announced.

Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA, revealed the launch window during the company’s latest financial results overnight, where he also confirmed that Skate will arrive during the next finical year, which ends April 2026. As for Battlefield, Wilson described it as a “pivotal step in delivering on our next generation of blockbuster entertainment.”

Meanwhile, DICE revealed on X that it will continue to balance the various weapons and their damage values, and test destructible objects as the feature remains a popular topic across play sessions.

Alongside testing new content, we’ll continue to iterate on our initial focus areas, such as balancing the different weapon archetypes and damage values, as well as movement and combat pacing mechanics.

Destruction also remains an ongoing topic across our play sessions. We’ll continue to test destructible objects across a variety of maps and fine-tune damage levels of surfaces. Following Community Updates on gunplay and destruction, we’ll be back in the future to talk more about classes and the all-out warfare experience.

The new Battlefield game is currently undergoing extensive playtesting ahead of its release, which has confirmed that the game will feature some impressive destruction mechanics. This latest entry in the franchise is a massive undertaking, and is being worked on by a collective known as Battlefield Studios, which includes DICE, Ripple Effect Studios, Criterion Games and EA Motive.
