Following lacklustre sales of its on-rails horror romp Dead Space: Extraction on Wii, it seems the folks at EA are looking to expand the prequel to new audiences via PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade.
That’s according to a recent survey, which suggests the company is flirting with the idea of bringing the horror game to both Sony and Microsoft’s online service in full HD, while retaining the original’s "guided first-person experience.” A tentative price point has been set at around $15 USD.
Elsewhere, the survey also mentions a Dead Space 2 extension called Planet Cracker, which apparently takes the form of a "resource strategy game where players will manage a CEC Mining operation,” in order to yield in-game bonuses for the main game.
Apparently, both Extraction and Planet Cracker are being considered as possible pre-order incentives for punters looking to reserve Dead Space 2. Sounds like a good idea to us. Stay tuned.
