Elden Ring Is Europe’s Biggest New IP Launch Since 2016’s The Division

FromSoftware has reason to crack open the bubbly once again, as Elden Ring has become the biggest launch for a new IP in Europe since 2016’s The Division.

In terms of a breakdown of sales, the PC version of Elden Ring took the lion’s share of copies sold at 44%, with PS5 following with 27% and Xbox and PS4 bringing up the rear with 16% and 13%, respectively.

In addition to the above, Elden Ring also ranks as the biggest game launch since Call of Duty: Vanguard last November.

Elden Ring was unsurprisingly the winner in terms of February software in Europe, hitting the no.1 spot in major regions, minus Germany, where Pokemon Legends: Arceus dominated the chart. In second place came Horizon Forbidden West for PS4 and PS5, which also recorded the biggest launch for Sony’s new console outside of Call of Duty.
