Elden Ring FromSoftware Japan News PS4 PS5

Elden Ring Moves 279,000 Physical Copies In Japan Across PS4, PS5 In First Week

FromSoftware‘s Elden Ring has gotten off to a great start in Japan, shifting 279,000 boxed copies in Japan across PlayStation consoles in its first week alone. This also secured the game first and second spots in the weekly Famitsu sales chart.

The fantasy-RPG sold 188,490 copies on the PS4 and 90,017 on PS5, making it the best-selling PS5 game to date. Prior to that, Resident Evil Village held that crown for Japan with 74,000 copies sold.

While this is impressive enough on its own, it’s worth remembering that Japan has been dominated by Nintendo Switch games lately, so it’s quite an accomplishment.
