Elden Ring’s upcoming expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, is still a while off but development is progressing well, the game’s producer has said.
Speaking with Game Watch, Yasuhiro Kitao offers a brief update on the expansion, making it clear Shadow of the Erdtree won’t be seeing the light of day just yet.
It’ll be a little while yet, but progress is going well. Like Bloodborne, it has new battles and new characters.
Not much is known about Shadow of the Erdtree following its announcement back in February, although there’s a chance we may get more info at The Game Awards next week. Early last month, Kadokawa, the parent company of FromSoftware, revealed that development of the DLC was “proceeding smoothly.”
FromSoftware reportedly scrapped plans for a Season Pass for Elden Ring, instead replacing it with Shadow of the Erdtree to lead its post-launch support for the game. Elden Ring launched in February 2022 and has sold over 20 million copies worldwide, although right now there’s no word on a potential sequel.
