Cliff Bleszinski of Epic Games has praised the work of Kojima Productions on its recent stealth/action title Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, proclaiming that the Japanese developer is "the best at what they do."
“I’m a huge fan of Kojima,” Bleszinski told website CVG. “The kind of scenes they do in MGS4 are phenomenal. I think it has the best sound and real-time [cut scenes] I’ve seen in the industry and since they’re the best at what they do, players love it.”
“It’s the hallmark of the series – the camera angles and dramatic scenes and it’s really taking film-making to this new digital level.”
Despite this, he added that ‘as a gamer,’ he preferred the shorter cut scenes, pointing to Epic Games’ own work as an example.
"In the kind of games we do, the cut scenes are around three to four minutes on average. It just says what needs to be said and moves on to letting you actually play the game,” said Bliszinski.
Bliszinksi isn’t the only one to share positive thoughts on Kojima’s latest entry in the Metal Gear Solid franchise, as you can tell from PSU’s own review, we though it was rather smashing too.
