Infinity Ward’s former community strategist, Robert Bowling, has called for a revitalization of the Call of Duty franchise, something which he was heavily involved in between 2006 – 2012.
Bowling took to Twitter to reveal his thoughts on the multi-million selling first-person franchise, suggesting it needs a significant overhaul.
It’s time to build from the studs up. We need more than iteration, we need revitalization. A focus back on core gameplay and not content gateways. We used to treat our players like community and not consumers. We brought them in to the fold for map feedback not market feedback.

Bowling, by the very nature of his job, was very active within the Call of Duty community and understood the series intimately, so if he reckons it needs a kick up the arse, he’s probably right.
Speaking of Call of Duty, next year’s entry is supposedly going to take the form of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.
