Darrell Gallagher and Brian Horton have announced on their respective LinkedIn profiles that they have joined up with 2K to front a new studio under publisher Take-Two, with the pair having both worked at Perfect Dark reboot studio The Initiative before Microsoft cancelled the project.
“I’m excited to share that I will be joining 2K as SVP, Studio Head, where I’ll be building a new studio and leading an ambitious opportunity unlike anything I’ve taken on before,” commented Gallagher. I’ve spent my career believing in what’s possible when great people come together with a bold vision. I can’t wait to get started with the exceptional team at 2K!”
“Happy to announce I joined 2K as VP, head of creative at a new studio with Darrell Gallagher,” said Horton.

There’s no further details in regards to what the pair will be working on, and the name of the new studio hasn’t actually been announced yet. Interestingly, Take-Two was reportedly in line to salvage the Perfect Dark reboot after it was cancelled, although negotiations fell apart.
Gallagher had previously worked at Crystal Dynamics on the Tomb Raider franchise while Horton had worked with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 studio Insomniac Games. Horton was also the direct of the Perfect Dark reboot, which Crystal Dynamics was involved with alongside The Initiative, with the former suffering layoffs in wake of the game’s cancellation.
