At first glance, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Swarm, the upcoming action platform game from DeathSpank creator, Hothead Games, bears more than a resemblance to Codemaster’s Overlord series. Indeed, while both games involve commanding a group of devilish-looking creatures across a fantasy universe, the two actually couldn’t be any more different.
In each level, Swarm involves controlling up to 50 of the swarmites, which are tiny blue creatures that have suicidal tendencies. The catch, however, is that there are a variety of tricky environments that you need to traverse which are littered with danger. Do you sacrifice some of your Swarmites for the greater good of the group? Or do you risk earning more points by trying to get them all to safety?
As you can see from the gameplay trailer, there’s a lot more to Swarm than initially meets the eye….
