Ubisoft has announced that it will release a high-definition version of Far Cry for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 12.
Titled Far Cry Classic, the game will be available to download for £7.99, and also comes as part of the previously-announced Far Cry: The Wild Expedition compilation, which arrives in stores the same month.
“Far Cry Classic is the premiere and ultimate console version of the very first Far Cry game,” said the French publisher. “Take the role of charter boat captain, Jack Carver, who finds himself hunted by an unrelenting team of highly trained mercenaries in this nature-gone-wrong FPS adventure.
“This HD revamp features stunningly realistic foliage, real-time day and night cycles, drivable underwater and flying vehicles which you can commandeer, and more…”
Far Cry was originally released on PC in 2004, and runs on the original version of the acclaimed CryEngine.
