Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, the directors behind Final Destination: Bloodlines, are set to helm a Metal Gear Solid movie for Sony Pictures label Columbia.

The Metal Gear Solid movie will be produced by Avi Arad and Ari Avad, and this is not the first time an adaptation of Hideo Kojima’s stealth-action title has been attempted. Originally, Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor Oscar Isaac was cast as Solid Snake back in 2020, and Avi Arad has been discussing plans for a Metal Gear film for more than a decade. Back in 2024, Isaac was no longer attached to the film and Arad stated that the project was not dead, and indeed that now appears to be the case as it’s finally seen movement again.
