Square Enix’s Hajime Tabata took to the stage at Sony’s pre-Tokyo Game Show press event this morning to unveil the Final Fantasy 15 Luna Edition PS4.
The new console is designed around the PS4 Slim, and as such comes with all the sleeker bells and whistles of Sony’s streamlined platform, and features a special skin based on the upcoming JRPG. You’ll also get a copy of the game itself plus Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy 15.
To be more specific, the design features a large moon (hence the Luna Edition moniker) as well as a striking gold-coated FFXV logo. All in all, it looks rather snazzy, as you can see for yourself below.
Final Fantasy 15 release date pushed to winter 2016
Final Fantasy 15 is scheduled for a worldwide release on November 29, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game was originally intended to ship in late September, though was pushed back to allow for additional polishing.
Not that a delay should make much difference at this point. As we all know, Final Fantasy 15 has been a long time coming; it was originally announced over a decade ago as the PS3-exclusive Final Fantasy Versus XIII, then part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series that began with Final Fantasy XIII.

However, Square Enix made only sporadic updates on the game over the next few years, and amidst rumors of the game’s cancellation decided to revamp the project for current-generation systems when Versus was around 25 percent complete. Fast-forward to E3 2013, and the FF15 we know today was formally announced.
While some elements have remained in tact, notably main character Noctis, numerous changes have been made in the transition from Versus to FF15, such as the character of Stella no longer being featured in the game. The game features a large-scale open-world to explore ripe with side quests, and takes on a more action-oriented approach to combat than its predecessors.
