Final Fantasy VII Remake was originally released for the PS4 in April 2020, and is the first in a three-part project that fully reimagines the seminal 1997 PSOne RPG. Remake features a number of new locations and plot threads not seen in the original version of Final Fantasy VII, and limits the player to Midgar; however, the area has been greatly expanded so that the game’s length easily surpasses 30 hours for the story alone.

Square Enix would later bring the game to PS5 as Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which features a number of performance enhancements as well as a new playable chapter featuring Yuffie. Looking ahead, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is coming to PS5 on February 29, 2024.
