Final Fantasy XVI producer and Final Fantasy XIV director Naoki Yoshida has finally touched base on a possible collaboration between the two games.

Anyway, bottom line is, he’s promised that more details on a Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy XVI will be revealed later this year, which sounds like it could actually happen.
Final Fantasy XVI was released in June 2023 for PS5, and sold over three million copies during its launch window. Recently, Square Enix sent off a survey to users in Japan asking them what they want to see from the game in the future, and we know the team is already ‘thinking about options‘ for DLC.
Meanwhile, Square Enix recently announced details on the next Final Fantasy XIV expansion, which is known as Dawntrail and will launch in Summer 2024. Before that however, we’re getting Growing Light, which is releasing in October 2023 and comes in two parts.
